What does Brexit mean now?
Lord John Kerr was formerly Permanent Under Secretary of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and Britain's Permanent Representative to the European Union. He played a central role in drafting Article 50 and spoke out in November 2017 to state that legally the UK could opt to reverse Brexit up to the moment we leave and the people have the right to change their minds if they want to.
Now a crossbench peer, Lord Kerr is coming to St Albans on 24 January to speak to us about:
- the option to reverse Brexit if we change our minds about leaving
- his perspective on the EU Withdrawal Bill and the negotiations
Following his talk and Q & A, St Albans for Europe campaigners will lead a short action-orientated session focusing on lobbying MPs and peers and how to communicate effectively with others to make the case for thinking again about leaving the EU.
Attendees will be asked to give a small donation to cover the costs of venue hire and refreshments.
7pm for 7.30pm start
